BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled 8-1 in favor of children and families in Chiles v. Salazar — and the coalition behind this ruling is as remarkable as the outcome itself.

Justices Sotomayor and Kagan — two of the Court's most liberal members, appointed by President Obama — joined the 8-1 majority striking down Colorado's Forced Transition law. Justice Kagan wrote separately to call it exactly what it is: textbook viewpoint discrimination that "enables speech on only one side" of a debate the government has no business settling.

As Justice Gorsuch wrote for the majority: "The First Amendment is no word game. And the rights it protects cannot be renamed away or their protections nullified by 'mere labels.'”

American Unity Fund filed an amicus brief in this case alongside the Ethics and Public Policy Center. While we don’t always agree on everything, and took opposite positions on the freedom to marry, we are united on this principle: children deserve good therapy — not s*x changes.

🚨 New data this week from the Manhattan Institute! Only 21% *of Democrats* support s*x changes for kids. American Unity Fund stands against the medicalization of LGBT youth.

We must resolve this through state and federal legislation!

American Unity Fund supports today's Supreme Court injunction in favor of parental rights and oversight, and against bizarre efforts by certain school districts to transition children without their parents' knowledge.

Parents have a right to care for and protect their children. Driving a wedge between parents and their kids is wrong, it's unpopular, and it's got to stop.

This type of bizarre intervention in children's lives and health is making life harder for kids, as well as LGBT adults. We are calling on the people doing this to stop doing it in our name!
