Friends of Paraguay is excited to announce that we are a finalist for the National Peace Corps Association’s 2025 Loret Miller Ruppe Award! We, along with two other NPCA affiliate groups, are competing for the prestigious award in honor of the former Peace Corps Director and U.S. Ambassador. Voting will occur on July 19 (during NPCA’s annual meeting—Peace Corps Connect—in Washington, D.C.) and anyone with a current NPCA membership—AS OF JULY 15—is eligible to vote. Please renew your membership TODAY (it’s FREE!) and stay tuned for a link to the video presentations and ballots, which current members will receive on July 19 when the videos go live during the conference. Join Friends of Paraguay for a Post Peace Corps Connect Happy Hour with Lucy Aquino
On Sunday, July 20 from 6 - 8pm, join Friends of Paraguay (FoP) at Mission DuPont for an informal happy hour with WWF Paraguay Director Lucy Aquino! During Peace Corps Connect on July 19 - 20, Ms. Aquino will be presented with the Harris Wofford Award by the National Peace Corps Association recognizing her for her tireless efforts in conservation, as a global influencer and citizen and as a celebrated counterpart and supervisor to numerous Peace Corps Volunteers.
If you live in the DC area, whether or not you are attending Peace Corps Connect 2025, please join FoP for an evening of celebrating Lucy Aquino and Peace Corps Paraguay.
