I was proud to support these important wins for Veterans and their families, which passed recently. I’m anticipating another important win for Veterans as I’m working tirelessly with leaders in the House and Senate to advance my Major Richard Star Act in the coming weeks! We must end the Wounded Veteran Tax!

I enjoyed participating in a vibrant discussion with key community stakeholders focused on the future of our region and the opportunities ahead. It was especially informative to hear updates from the University of Tampa regarding its continued growth and impact on our community, as well as insights from the Tampa Bay Partnership and FDOT Secretary on the transportation needs and infrastructure priorities critical to supporting our region’s continued success. A special thanks to Bob Clark for letting me participate!

I enjoyed attending a community conversation hosted by ! The meeting focused on the opportunities and challenges facing our region. It was encouraging to hear from local leaders about the meaningful progress being made to address critical issues impacting our communities, economy, and quality of life. I especially appreciated the chance to hear from my former legislative colleagues, Sandy Murman and Victor Crist about the work they are doing in Tampa Bay. Working together through open dialogue and collaboration is essential to ensuring the Tampa Bay region continues to grow and thrive.

I’m a proud cosponsor of the Cancer Drug Parity Act of 2025, a practical step toward making cancer treatment more affordable and accessible for patients and families. This legislation ensures that cost-sharing for intravenous and injected cancer treatments is administered fairly through healthcare providers, helping prevent insurers from shifting or increasing out-of-pocket costs for oral cancer medications. No patient fighting cancer should face unnecessary financial barriers to the treatment their doctor prescribes. This bill helps level the playing field, strengthens fairness in coverage, and improves access to life-saving care when it is needed most. I will continue working to lower healthcare costs and support policies that put patients first.

I was proud to vote in support of the Sharri Briley and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act, which recently passed the House. This important legislation strengthens our commitment to those who have worn the uniform by expanding critical benefits for severely disabled Veterans, providing additional support for surviving military families, and improving access to VA home loan programs for members of the National Guard and Reserve. Our Veterans and their families have sacrificed immensely in service to our nation, and they deserve a system that not only honors that sacrifice in word, but delivers meaningful, timely, and effective support in practice. This bill is a step forward in ensuring those promises are kept. I will always stand with our Veterans and remain committed to strengthening the benefits and services they have earned.

I’m a proud to co-sponsor of the Credit for Caring Act of 2025. This commonsense legislation supports working family caregivers by providing a tax credit of up to $5,000, covering 30% of qualified caregiving expenses. Family caregivers are the backbone of our long-term care system - often balancing jobs, finances, and the responsibility of caring for loved ones. This bill helps ease that burden and deliver meaningful financial relief. We must continue advancing solutions that recognize, support, and empower those who care for our nation’s most vulnerable.

A bill I’ve co-authored, The Cutting Copays Act is a commonsense bipartisan effort to reduce Medicare Part D copays and help lower prescription drug costs for seniors. This legislation is about making life more affordable, strengthening access to needed medications, and ensuring seniors can keep more of their hard-earned money. I’ll keep fighting to put patients first and move us toward a more affordable and accessible health care system.
