I am saddened at the passing of my friend Clinton Mayor Jack Gilfoy. Jack was a fierce advocate for the community he served. I will truly miss him.

Just saying! When the government attempts to stop opposing views and uses the media to do its dirty work we all suffer. The fact that President elect Trump voiced a viewpoint that the COVID-19 virus could have been the result of a lab leak was enough to make some of my colleagues in Congress oppose and suppress this viewpoint. When it comes to public health we should not be blinded by politics. On either side.

I was honored this week to receive the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award. Thanks to Randy Kron and the Indiana Farm Bureau. Agriculture is critical to the economy of our state. In Congress I have a solid record of supporting the issues important to agriculture.

A year ago, Hamas' terrorist attack in Israel resulted in the brutal massacre of over 1,200 innocent men, women, and children, while many others were beaten, r***d, or taken hostage. The United States must continue to stand beside Israel as it defends its citizens from Hamas.

Hamas has held hostages - including four Americans – in captivity for the past year. We pray that the Hamas terrorists in Gaza will quickly release all the hostages and allow them to return to their families.

I’m thankful for the men and women in local law enforcement who keep our families and communities safe. Earlier this week, my staff presented Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputy Quinten Might with a copy of the Congressional Record where I had the privilege to recognize his service to the community.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 American lives lost on September 11, 2001. While that fateful morning remains one of the darkest days in our nation’s history, it also saw the best of the American spirit as first responders ran towards danger and countless others acted to care for their fellow Americans.

President Biden and VP Harris made the decisions leading to the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. It is not true that the administration was bound by the Doha agreement. The Taliban was in violation of the agreement and the President and VP knew that was the case. The result was thousands of people were left behind including our own citizens. And thirteen American soldiers lost their lives. A massive failure.
