Today is a difficult day for many New Jerseyans as we mark the anniversary of the attack that killed at least 1,200 in Israel. Many had deep ties to the 12th District, including Laor Abramov, who grew up in Hopewell and was killed on October 7th, 2023.

Together, lets remember those lost and offer comfort to our grieving neighbors.

Pete Hegseth has misled the American people on the cost of the war, the conditions of service members at sea, and how much of the military’s resources have been drained. He and the Trump administration have no track record for honesty, but a long record of incompetence.��The fact that Hegseth would cover up the number of service members we've lost in Trump's war on Iran is abhorrent, yet unsurprising. It is no secret that this war is a failure. It makes GOP Speaker Johnson’s cancelation of votes to avoid a vote on impeaching Hegseth even more dubious.��The American people want accountability and deserve the truth. These are the actions of an authoritarian government, and this is the most shameless collection of individuals we've had lead this country in my lifetime.

Officials who spoke with The Post expressed frustration that the additional loss of life in the Middle East is not reflected in the Defense Department’s casualty database.

Since our last episode of the Trump Corruption World Tour, President Trump has given us much to talk about— from cash gifts to his aides or his son’s wedding being bankrolled by a Russian oligarch with ties to Putin. This week however, we talk about his false promise of cash rewards to voters, but only IF Republicans win the midterm elections.

Let’s be real: Trump has promised cash “dividends” from his tariffs and from DOGE savings but never delivered. This is just another false promise that may even constitute bribery.

38 days ago, my constituent Edwin Lopez Cornejo died while in ICE custody at Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, NJ. Soon after, I, along with some of my Democratic colleagues from NJ, sent a letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin demanding answers regarding his death and the medical neglect of Amro Sehaim, another detainee at Delaney Hall. Secretary Mullin has failed to respond or take any action as required by law.
 
ICE refuses to prioritize safety and uphold the law. Instead they are terrorizing communities in an effort to meet arbitrary deportation quotas. The result has been dangerous actions by agents (many of them unvetted and untrained), substandard conditions, and disrupted communities. 
 
Our nation needs the comprehensive immigration reform that has been blocked by extremists in the Republican Party for decades.

To avoid a Pete Hegseth impeachment vote started by one of their own Members, GOP leadership decided to take ANOTHER long vacation until after the midterm elections. While Americans are trying to make ends meet, they are sacrificing your needs to save face.

Republicans are not working for your best interests. In fact, they aren’t working very much at all.

When air traffic safety returned to the spotlight and air traffic controllers told me and my colleagues that they were overworked and underpaid, we listened.
 
In April, Congress approved a 3.8% pay raise for controllers, but we are now in September and they have only received 1% of that raise. Today, I asked FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford why he’s holding the remaining 2.8% hostage. He refused to provide an actual answer.
 
Trump and his puppets are only focused on the corporate bottom line, at the expense of the working-class and with little regard for safety.
