Last evening, I joined my colleagues to honor the memory of law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty. We also prayed for the family of fallen officers as well as the men and women who serve and protect our communities. May God watch over those who stand on the Thin Blue Line.

My Republican Colleagues and I are committed to ensuring the men and women in law enforcement have the resources they need to serve our communities and safely return home to their families.

It was great to join Christoper Krauss and his family in Kalamazoo where they were presented with the keys to a new payment free Chevy Traverse!

Christopher served our nation in the US Army and earned a Purple Heart while deployed to Iraq where he was injured multiple times during combat operations. He and his wife live in Hamilton where they are raising five boys.

During the ceremony, I presented Chris with a flag as thank you for his service and to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our nation.

Thank you to DeNooyer Chevrolet for hosting this wonderful event. I also want to say thank you to the Military Warrior Support Foundation and Wells Fargo for supporting our veteran community, active duty service members, and gold star families.

Their courage defended liberty at one of history’s darkest moments and secured the future of the West for generations to come.
