Team Member Spotlight: Meet, Janessa, our lead social worker. Her favorite snack, as of now, is ramen noodle salad. She enjoys how every day is different at JHouse, along with our amazing volunteers, and she was adopted from South Korea.

Would you like to contribute to Joseph's House but need guidance on the donation process?

We highlight three ways your donation can have a significant impact, chosen to fit your preferences. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated.

Your 35-year support has allowed us to stand out as the only organization in DC not reliant on third-party billing. Know that your support saves lives and gives our residents renewed hope. 💚

We appreciated the time spent with volunteers from the Association of American Medical Colleges 💚

We are for their help with deep cleaning the house and watering the grounds. Their partnership has been instrumental in facilitating our work, and we appreciate their over the years.

Kowshara Thomas, Executive Director and recipient of 2026 John Thompson Jr. Legacy of a Dream Award, was distinguished as the guest speaker at the "Social Justice Send-Off" ceremony. 💚

The Center for Social Justice .georgetown and Georgetown University host this annual event to recognize graduates dedicated to community-based work and social justice initiatives, traditionally featuring Legacy of a Dream awardees as keynote speakers.

Kowshara shared The Five Precepts by Frank Ostaseski, urging graduates to continue to do the work that makes justice real throughout their journeys:

"So, as you leave here today, do so with both pride and purpose. Celebrate what you have accomplished, but do not forget what lies ahead. The world does not need perfection from you. It needs your persistence. Your compassion. Your willingness to stand up, even when it is difficult."

In loving memory of Mr. Ramsey 💛 You leave us with a big void, as your presence was felt in so many ways. Your history is your legacy, which will live on in the memories we'll hold onto forever.

Thank you for letting us take care of you during your transition from your earthly journey. Rest in peace and light.

Each candle represents a shared thought or story, reminding us of the impact he created on the family. 💚
