Veterans Day is a time to reflect on the men and women who have served and are serving America. Today, we thank the heroes who have fought to protect the freedoms we cherish today.

Twenty-one years ago today, America experienced one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in our history. As we recognize the anniversary of 9/11, we honor the thousands of innocent lives lost, the first responders and volunteers heroic rescue efforts, and the service and sacrifice of our men and women overseas. In the words of former President George W. Bush “none of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.”

On September 8, my office is hosting an 'Academy Day' event featuring representatives from the U.S. Service Academies. This is a great opportunity for highly motivated students to learn about the service academy nomination application process. Please help us get the word out and share with any high school students you know who are interested in a service academy appointment.

Last night was a blast! The 2022 Congressional Baseball Game was a 10-0 shellacking of our Democrat foes. The win marks the GOP's best showing in decades, and now makes a streak of two straight years the trophy will be going to the Republican side of the House floor. I played the entire game at first base and end my career with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, having never made an error. The game was made even better by my grandson Bart being the GOP batboy. We especially enjoyed the GOP fans' “Just Like Mid-Terms” razing of Democrats as the game drew to a close. I hope, for America's sake, that rousing cheer is prophetic!

The 2022 Congressional Baseball Game is tomorrow! I am excited to start at First Base again this year and play under the lights at Washington Nationals Park. Check out the highlights of last year’s victory below.

As we celebrate our nation’s 246th birthday with fireworks and festivities, let's take a moment to remember the courageous men and women who won and defended our freedom and independence. Just as they laid the path before us, it is now our duty to protect the freedoms we hold dear in America.

Since the draft Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health U.S. Supreme Court opinion was leaked, U.S. Supreme Court Justices and pro-life advocates have experienced heightened threats and violence. In response, I signed onto a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland asking him if the DOJ is investigating these attacks and working on prevention plans.
