🐾Don’t Feed Friday! 🐾
On the list today: APPLES! 🍎 🍎🍎🍎
There’s so much out there about APPLES and avoiding feeding the core.
Mixed opinions about the core and the Cyanide content. Short answer- there’s not one.
While the seeds in Apples do contain Cyanide, there are studies that say the amount odd negligible and can be digested causing little effect on your dog. Most veterinarians say don’t allow them to eat the core, some nutritionists say it’s fine.
The other issue with the core is the size of the seeds posing a cooking hazard. Including eating the entire core! That can cause a mighty big bet bill!
BUT APPLES are fine to feed. Both the flesh
and the skin. They’re actually a great treat in moderation of part of a well balanced biologically appropriate raw diet (B.A.R.F.).
Always consult your veterinarian for any diet suggestions! In the meantime, let your pups enjoy a great treat!
