I join the entire racing community today in mourning the tragic loss of Kyle Busch. As a lifelong NASCAR fan, I’ve enjoyed years of watching him race at Talladega. My prayers are with his family, especially his wife and children.

Ben Russell was a good friend, great philanthropist, and a great Alabamian. The residents of Lake Martin and Alex City will feel this loss for years to come.
It is with profound sadness, yet immense gratitude for a life of unparalleled impact, that we announce the passing of our Chairman of the Board, Benjamin (Ben) Russell. A lifelong resident of Alexander City, Ben was a transformative leader whose deep love for Lake Martin and the State of Alabama shaped a premier development and recreation enterprise, fostered groundbreaking philanthropy, and enriched the fabric of the community.
"Ben’s vision and passion were the driving forces behind everything we do at Russell Lands," said David Sturdivant, President of Russell Lands. "He was more than a chairman; he was a mentor, a community champion, and a true visionary. While we mourn his loss, we are incredibly proud to celebrate his life and remain committed to honoring his remarkable legacy by continuing to build upon the foundation and values he established over the last half-century."
