The AMPed program in New Hampshire is a partnerhsip between high-tech manufacturers and community colleges to create more skilled employees that would help to rectify this skewed employment picture: "Over the past year—from October 2015 to October 2016—manufacturing employment fell by 53,000, declining from 12,311,000 to 12,258,000. Middle-Class Americans Face Biggest Strain Under Rising Obamacare Costs 11/07/2016

This is the tale of one average, middle-class American whose Obamacare premiums and deductible are both doubling next year, so she's forgoing health insurance. Isn't this the problem the President's health care law was supposed to fix? Instead, Obamacare is doing the reverse, raising costs and forcing Granite Staters, also, into a more precarious position. I voted to repeal and replace the law with true health care reform that decreases costs, increases access and improves quality.

Middle-Class Americans Face Biggest Strain Under Rising Obamacare Costs Last month, officials announced health care costs under the Affordable Care Act are expected to rise 22 percent. Rachel Martin speaks with Lindsay Travnicek, an Arizona woman who may forgo coverage.

Multiple Jobholders Hits 21st Century High, As Full-Time Jobs Tumble | Zero Hedge 11/04/2016

The new jobs report is out, and it's not good. In a down economy, we're losing full-time jobs. The number of people working multiple jobs to makes ends meet is at a record high. A big reason is Obamacare, which punishes full-time employment. We have to turn this economy around -- and we know how. Lower taxes. Lower regulations to free small business. Reducing federal spending and debt. Fixing the economy is my number one priority in Congress.

Multiple Jobholders Hits 21st Century High, As Full-Time Jobs Tumble | Zero Hedge A new warning has emerged when looking at the number of Multiple jobholders, or people who are forced to hold more than one job due to insufficient wages or for other reasons: when looked on an actual, unadjusted basis, the number of multiple jobholders just rose to 8.050 million, the highest number...

Cubs End 108-Year Wait for World Series Title, After a Little More Torment 11/03/2016

It took extra innings in Game 7 for the Chicago Cubs to shatter the the Curse of the Billy Goat. Boston Red Sox fans, who suffered for almost as long under the Curse of the Bambino, know the feeling. Congrats to the Cubs.

The Non-Affordable Care Act’s Restaurant Recession 11/02/2016

Big Government liberals misunderstand that small businesses also have small margins. There's not much room to spare for new taxes and regulations like Obamacare, cutting into already thin bottom lines at restaurants. Customers are spending more on health care -- in some cases double next year -- and staying home. For many forced into part-time employment, because of Obamacare, jobs at restaurants provided a safe haven but may shrink, if this restaurant CEO is right about trends. We MUST repeal the President's failing law and replace it, not only to improve health care, but also to grow the economy and jobs for Granite Staters.

The Non-Affordable Care Act’s Restaurant Recession Andy Puzder writes that rising health-care premiums and costs are leaving consumers with less money to dine out, causing a restaurant recession.

Physicians' Participation in Obamacare Plummets 20 Percent 11/01/2016

Obamacare's skyrocketing costs are on everyone's mind, after the Obama Administration announced average premium costs will rise 25 percent next year. In addition to costs, quality care should be a concern to Granite Staters, as doctors are disappearing. Higher costs. Fewer choices. In Congress, I've voted to repeal and replace the failing law and will continue working to decrease costs, increase access, and improve quality care for all Granite Staters.

Physicians' Participation in Obamacare Plummets 20 Percent Even fewer physicians will be taking Obamacare come next year.

More bonuses for VA employees despite ongoing problems at the agency 10/30/2016

The VA Secretary compared VA hospitals to Disneyland. Hardly... While the veterans agency is still paying big bonuses to senior executives who mismanaged vets' health care, the Pentagon has been demanding vets who served their country pay back enlistment bonuses! My bill with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard would ease hiring and firing rules at the stubborn VA bureaucracy and deny bonuses to negligent officials.

More bonuses for VA employees despite ongoing problems at the agency WASHINGTON -- Despite controversies involving the Department of Veterans Affairs, nearly 189,000 employees received more than $177 million in bonuses for fiscal 2015, according to data obtained by USA TODAY.
