The primary mission of the DC Anti-Violence Project is to reduce violence against LGBT individuals (and those perceived as LGBT) through community outreach, education, and monitoring cases to ensure that the rights and dignity of LGBT victims are respected and protected. The DC Anti-Violence Project also seeks to assist victims of anti-LGBT violence by advocating on their behalf, encouraging reporting, and providing a community of support.

The Job Club is a weekly job support program to help job entrants and seekers, including the long-term unemployed, improve self-confidence, motivation, resilience and productivity for effective job searches and networking — allowing participants to move away from being merely “applicants” toward being “candidates.” The focus is on developing strength-led strategies, techniques and goal plans, matching values and strengths and improving self-awareness as approaches to finding meaningful and satisfying employment.

-You are required to register weekly to grab a spot as produce is limited. Registrations open every Monday at Noon (12 PM).
-To be more fair with who is receiving boxes, we are moving to a lottery system. People will be informed on Wednesday at 5:00 pm if they are picked to receive a produce box this week.

The Trans Support Group is intended to provide emotionally and physically safe space for trans* people and those who may be questioning their gender identity/expression to join together in community and learn from one another. We welcome all who identify under the trans* umbrella or are unsure, and seek to continually reinforce our principles of respect, acceptance and protection through ongoing input from our attendees.
We wish to stress the importance of a safe space where collectively, folks that identify along the trans spectrum or questioning may share stories and experiences. We appreciate the ongoing support of allies, but ask that due to the vulnerable and sensitive nature of Trans support group, and out of respect for its attendees, allies may reach out to more appropriate channels better suited toward ally support.
We have two Trans Discussion Group meetings each month on the second Tuesday and fourth Friday of the month starting at 7 pm.

Join The DC Center’s Center Wellness program as our trained and certified Yoga Instructors take you through gentle motions, breathwork and other mindfulness activities on February 6th, 2025.
Go to https://thedccenter.org/events/virtual-yoga-class-with-sarah-m-2-2025-02-06/ to sign up !
Sarah (she/her) is very excited to offer yoga classes through Center Wellness at The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center this year! Sarah first found yoga in 2014 when she became a member of Charm City Yoga (later purchased by Yoga Works) in Columbia, MD. Although Sarah initially signed up for yoga as a way of adding more exercise into her routine, she quickly realized that it was an essential component of her “mental health toolkit,” as yoga helped her to manage both anxiety and depression. Sarah continued to deepen her practice and in 2022, she became a member of The Mindful Life Practice (MLP), an online sober yoga community. In 2023, Sarah decided to complete her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification with the MLP, and she later worked as one of the MLP’s instructors during an in-person, 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, Indonesia in 2024.
