It’s Customer Service Week! 💙

This year’s theme is “The Extra Mile,” and our Customer Care teams put that into practice every day.

So far this fiscal year, they’ve:

✅ Served more than 171,000 customer calls
✅ Connected 4,800+ customers with assistance programs
✅ Facilitated more than $2.5 million in customer assistance funding
✅ Created nearly 19,000 installment plans to help customers manage their accounts
✅ Resolved 94% of billing investigations within 30 days

From billing questions and payment assistance to emergencies, leak investigations and service restoration, our teams are there when customers need them most.

This Customer Service Week, we’re celebrating the people who go the extra mile for our customers every day. Thank you, Team DC Water! 💧👏

🎉 The new DC Infrastructure Academy (DCIA) campus is officially open at the historic Spingarn High School in Ward 5!

The new campus, opened by Mayor Bowser and District partners, will expand training opportunities and prepare more Washingtonians for careers in high-demand fields.

DC Water is proud to be a DCIA partner, helping connect District residents to career opportunities in the infrastructure industry, including water.

Congratulations to our partners at the DC Department of Employment Services on this exciting new chapter!

Beginning October 2, DC Water rates will increase by less than 6%. For the average residential customer, that means an increase of about $9 per month, from about $147 to $156.

The new rates will support essential investments in our water and sewer systems, including replacing aging pipes and lead service lines, improving major sewer infrastructure and upgrading treatment facilities.

We know any increase can be challenging. DC Water Cares offers assistance programs for eligible customers, including bill assistance, payment plans and help addressing hidden leaks that can increase water use and costs.
