It was a pleasure to meet CS Hanna Wendot Cheptumo, Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services during the UNGA 80 in New York, USA.

Melinda Gates once said, “when you invest in women and girls, you are investing in the people who invest in everyone else.” Kenyan women in the US embody resilience and courage, and have an unbreakable sense of shared solidarity that empowers and lifts others.

Over the weekend, I joined Kenya Women In The US (KWITU) during their colorful 10th Anniversary and Annual Grand Reunion celebrations held in St. Paul, Minnesota. The legendary Mama Kayai was also in attendance.
