Today, I was honored to provide the keynote at the ribbon-cutting of the new IBEW Local 270 apprenticeship training facility in Oak Ridge. I was surrounded by the best, hardworking tradesmen and women whose skills power our nation’s most vital missions right here at the Oak Ridge reservation. With this new center, we’re opening the door for even more talented folks to step up and join the ranks, whether it’s at the national lab, Y-12, or anywhere across our local workforce.

I had a wonderful time today on campus at Southern Adventist University celebrating the dedication of the new Ruth McKee School of Business. A beautiful tribute to Mrs. McKee, who meant so much to this region as a businesswoman, a philanthropist, and as a leader within the community. I'm proud this new building will educate generations of future business leaders who will serve throughout our region and our great state.

I was glad to welcome my good friend and former House colleague VA Secretary Doug Collins to Chattanooga. Together we hosted a productive roundtable with veterans leaders to discuss the issues facing our veteran community and changes to policies that are enabling the VA to more effectively assist veterans with healthcare, education, and workforce transition training opportunities. We are making meaningful progress to ensure our veterans receive the support they deserve. This event's success highlights our community’s dedication to those who have served our nation.

Thank you to Gov. Bill Lee for the invitation to speak at the Governor’s Convention today. It was a privilege to join leaders from across our great state to celebrate our economic success. As a federal partner, I have enjoyed working hand in hand with the Governor and his administration to make Tennessee the powerhouse that is driving America’s national and economic security while sustaining Tennessee’s momentum so that every Tennessean has more opportunity.

America must and will win in quantum. Thank you to EPB for hosting and inviting me to speak at tonight's event connecting stakeholders from across the nation to spotlight our city's commitment in this space and for their foresight in building the nation’s first commercial quantum network. Quantum is on in Chattanooga!

I was honored to be featured at EPB’s roundtable highlighting Chattanooga’s groundbreaking quantum infrastructure, the nation’s first commercial quantum network, and the community and business leaders who make it possible. Through years of community project funding and building local relationships with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and federal agencies, I have had the privilege of bringing these partnerships just as EPB has built this world-leading quantum ecosystem. I’m proud to work closely with the state, local, and academic leaders shaping our tech-forward future and growing the workforce that is making Chattanooga a hub for innovation. Working together, we’re expanding opportunities for everyone as we make quantum a reality.

Today marks a historic milestone for Tennessee and America’s nuclear future! It's exciting to see real progress as the Tennessee Valley Authority leads the nation with the first utility-led small modular reactor at Clinch River. Thanks to strong partnerships and local support, the Tennessee Valley remains at the forefront of nuclear innovation. I’ll keep fighting for a secure, prosperous future powered by American nuclear energy!
