As Chair of the Tennessee Valley Corridor Caucus, it was my pleasure to kick off the 2026 TVC Summit in Chattanooga. The Summit brings together world-leading institutions such as the ORNL, TVA, Arnold AFB, and Redstone Arsenal, alongside our dynamic ecosystem of private industry and outstanding universities. I particularly want to thank the fantastic hosts
EPB and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for showing off the best of Chattanooga! I was proud to highlight how the Corridor has become a national hub for nuclear innovation, leading the nation into a new nuclear future. From advanced reactor development to fuel production to next-generation research, the work happening in the Tennessee Valley will ensure American energy dominance. Thank you to all those supporting the Corridor and for all of your efforts to make it work for the people of the five states. Leaders like Deputy Secretary of Energy Danly, who I was proud to introduce at the summit, are instrumental to achieving these goals in nuclear, quantum, advanced manufacturing, and AI. His work is helping ensure that the DOE and our national labs partner and collaborate across state and local governments, academia, and private industry to build lasting transformations that secures American prosperity and security for generations to come.

Always great to meet with Superintendent Bennett about how we can work together to preserve the beauty of Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Battlefield Park. I’m proud to support our national parks so future generations can enjoy and learn from them.

It was an honor to speak at today's groundbreaking for Erlanger's expansion project! As TN's only Appropriator in the House, I have continued to prioritize Erlanger Health System. I'm excited about this new extension, which brings new cardiac care, greater capacity, and a refreshed emergency department closer to patients and families. Thank you to all the local leaders and community partners who helped bring us to this moment.

It was an honor to join veterans and community leaders for Memorial Day ceremonies at the Chattanooga National Cemetery and in East Ridge. We remember the price paid by so many Americans for the blessings of our freedom, our security, and our safety. We will never forget their sacrifice.

It's always inspiring to see the next generation take an interest in the future of our country. It was great to see students from Soddy Daisy Middle School and answer their questions about what I'm doing in Congress.

Today, the House Committee on Appropriations passed my FY27 Energy and Water Bill out of committee. The FY27 Energy and Water bill puts America First by unleashing American-made energy dominance, prioritizing research and development of baseload energy sources, and maintaining funding for programs that deliver affordable energy prices for Americans. It sustains and modernizes the U.S. Navy’s nuclear propulsion program, ensuring a safe, reliable fleet and maintaining America’s strategic advantage, and furthers President Trump’s executive order on the Genesis Mission, a coordinated national effort to leverage artificial intelligence to accelerate discovery, strengthen national security, and drive energy innovation. I'd like to thank my colleagues on the Appropriations Committee for their full support in advancing this critical legislation.
