Today, we remember and we honor. May this Memorial Day be a sacred day of remembrance for those who gave their lives in defense of our nation.
May we never take our freedom for granted. 🇺🇸

It was great to speak at the reception last week.
As Co-Chair of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, adoption has always been close to my heart and I’m grateful for the incredible advocates, nonprofits, and families who work together to ease restrictions and barriers on adoption across the world.
Every child deserves a chance to grow up in a safe, supportive, and loving home.

Great opportunity and growth headed towards Northwest Alabama with the confirmation of the Virginia Transformer Plant in Muscle Shoals.
This manufacturing plant will bring 1,100 jobs to Colbert County and is a powerful example of the highly skilled workforce and industry in Alabama's Fourth District.

Caroline and I cast our ballots in Haleyville this afternoon. We’re hearing turnout is pretty low across the entire state. There’s still time to get out and vote before 7 p.m. tonight.

I am wishing the Muscle Shoals, Hackleburg, Russellville, and Tharptown Rocketry Teams good luck today as they compete in the American Rocketry Challenge.
I had the privilege of meeting some of these high school students this week and I am proud that we have many National Finalists from Alabama’s 4th District competing!

I was honored to be presented with the “Federal Legislative Champion” award from the Shoals Economic Development Authority last night at their 40th anniversary event.
The Shoals EDA has done exceptionally great work bringing together leaders and investments in Northwest Alabama.

Today I had the privilege of welcoming students from my alma mater, Haleyville High School, to Washington, D.C.! As a high school senior, I came on the same trip to Washington and I am glad to see the tradition continue.
It’s always a joy to see young students learning and asking great questions about our nation’s capital. What a great year to visit as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

I’m glad to see such a good public meeting Tuesday night in Sheffield regarding the proposed railroad overpass project. It was encouraging for the community to have the opportunity to review the plans and hear about the progress being made.
I’m also pleased that the federal funding I helped secure for the first phase of the project is being put to use. This project has the potential to improve safety, traffic flow, and economic development in the area, and I look forward to continuing to work with all of the involved parties to help move the project forward.

As an America250 Commissioner, I am proud to work on legislation and commemorative events that honor our Nation’s legacy, while looking towards our future.
As a part of this year’s semiquincentennial events, the America250 Time Capsule will be buried in Philadelphia on July 4th, and remained sealed until 2276. This capsule will serve as a lasting reminder of this great milestone. 🇺🇸

Great to have Hamilton Elementary School visit the U.S. Capitol while they are in Washington, D.C.! I always enjoy getting to show students from Alabama’s 4th District around the Capitol and answer their questions about Congress and how the government works.
