1 in 4 indigenous people have a disability. Their communities are at higher risk of developing complications from COVID-19. If you are able support this fund to help indigenous communities at this time, please do.
🚨URGENT, INDIGENOUS ALLIES NEEDED🚨
We could lose entire tribal nations to COVID-19, if we lose this fight not only will we lose Indigenous wisdom keepers, but we lose ancestral Indigenous knowledge critical to the future safekeeping of Mother Earth. It is an urgent moment in time to work together to safeguard the health of tribal nations. We call upon our allies to assist Return to the Heart Foundation in donating and amplifying the Native COVID-19 Action Fund which is working to procure emergency Personal Protective Equipment and Rapid Test Kits to the already vulnerable tribal communities of Arizona, Hawaii, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

First line in italics says “Give to Native Covid19 Action Fund.” Under other reads “Historically infections have decimated Indigenous communities...We are asking allies of conscience to recognize this historical moment where we need to do everything possible to protect our elders, for they are Waiwai (Water/Wealth) of our people... Help us protect our communities.” This quote is then contributed to “Dr. Kalamaoka’aina Niheu, Md., Mauna Medic Healers Hui.” This is all written on a picture of the ocean with light purple and orange hues in the sunset and teal ocean water. In the left hand corner, there is “Return to the Heart Foundation” written.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the President Trumps plan to deny green cards for people who will cost the government money. This harms the disability community and will mean that many people will no longer have the access to come to this country. Without proper medical care the disabled community will be harmed. We must continue to fight for people to do better.
In 5-4 ruling, Supreme Court allows Trump plan to deny green cards to those who may need government aid
DHS said it would expand the definition of "public charge" to apply to people whose entry could be denied because of concern they would depend on federal assistance.
