It’s National Rebuilding Day! 🏡🔨
Today, you’ll see volunteers painting, repairing, building ramps and making homes safer, but behind every project is something much bigger. It’s about helping people remain in the homes they love, maintain independence and create a sense of stability that everyone deserves.
Stay connected with us on our socials as we highlight the many projects taking place today. 💚

Tomorrow, homes across the country will be repaired, improved, and made safer for the people who live in them.
National Rebuilding Day is a time to support our neighbors in meaningful ways. For many of our neighbors, these repairs represent more than just updates. These repairs will provide comfort, safety and the ability to remain in the place they call home. 💚🔨
Can’t join in person? You can still make an impact. Donate, share and help us spread the word. https://rebuildingtogether.org/national-rebuilding-month-2026

What does Earth Day have to do with home repair? More than you might think. 🌎🏡
When we repair and preserve existing homes, we reduce construction waste, limit the need for new materials and protect the character of our neighborhoods. It’s a sustainable approach that supports both people and the planet. These photos from National Rebuilding Day in 2002 capture more than a moment in time. They show what it looks like to invest in what already exists: homes, neighborhoods and the people who make them whole. 💚
We’re choosing to rebuild, not replace. If you’ve ever thought about being part of something like this, National Rebuilding Day is a great place to start. https://rebuildingtogether.org/national-rebuilding-month-2026

National Rebuilding Day, 2004 📸
More than 20 years ago, this home got a second chance. The repairs made it safer, more livable and a place its residents could truly call home. Today, millions of families still live in homes that need critical repairs. National Rebuilding Month highlights the importance of continuing this work and expanding access to resources that help keep people safe and healthy in their homes.
You can be part of the impact, too! Visit https://rebuildingtogether.org/national-rebuilding-month-2026 to learn how you can volunteer, donate or support a local project this April 💚

For years, an older couple in Maryland lived without running water. When the nearby stream froze in the winter, so did their access to it.
In December 2025, Rebuilding Together Howard County helped change that, bringing running water to their home for the first time in decades. It was more than just a repair. It represented health and safety, something the homeowner described as “the best Christmas present ever.” 💚

Consider this a sign to fix that leaky showerhead. 🚿🔨
Did you know that a showerhead leaking just 10 drops per minute can waste more than 500 gallons of water each year? Leaks may seem minor, but over time they can add up. Fixing them early can save money, prevent damage and protect your home.
