Kurdistan Regional Government - Representation in the USA

The Kurdistan Regional Government has released a new report detailing the scale of attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region between February 28 and April 20, 2026.

Despite its neutrality, the Region has faced over 800 drone and missile attacks, resulting in 20 killed and 123 wounded, along with extensive damage to civilian homes, businesses, and infrastructure.

Erbil was the most heavily impacted, with significant damage also reported across Sulaimani, Halabja, Duhok, and Soran.

The KRG continues to condemn these attacks and calls on the Federal Government in Baghdad to take meaningful action to hold US-sanctioned terrorist groups accountable and prevent further assaults on civilians.

لە ساڵیادی کیمیابارانی ناوچەی بالیسان و شێخ وەسانان کە لە ١٦ی نیسان ١٩٨٧ ئەنجامدرا، ئێمە لە نوێنەرایەتی حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان سەری ڕێزونەوازش بۆ گیانی پاکی ئەو شەهیدانە و تەواوی شەهیدانی کوردستان دادەنوێنین.

ئەم هێرشە لە قۆناغەکانی سەرەتایی پرۆسەی ئەنفال دژ بە گەلی کورد ئەنجامدرا کە بووە هۆی بە ئامانجگرتنی خەڵکانی سیڤیل و لەدەرەنجامی هێرشەکەدا لە ناوچەی بالیسان و شێخ وەسانان کە سەدان خەڵک شەهید و برینداربوون. ئەم هێرشە قۆناغەکانی سەرەتای بە کارهێنانی چەکی کیمیاوی بوو لە دژی گەلی کوردستان.

لەم ساڵیادەدا ئێمە وێڕای سەری ڕێزونەوازش بۆ شەهیدان، سۆز و هاوخەمی خۆمان دەردەبڕین بۆ خانەوادەی شەهیدان و دووپاتی گرنگی یادکردنەوەی ئەم کارەساتە و لێپرسینەوە لە تاوانباران و ڕێگریکردن لە دووبارەبوونەوەی تاوانی لەمشێوەیە لە داهاتوودا دەکەینەوە.

Today, we mark the remembrance of the chemical attack on Balisan and Sheikh Wasan, which took place on April 16, 1987.

This attack, carried out during the early stages of the Anfal campaign, targeted civilian populations and resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives. It remains one of the earliest instances of chemical weapons being used against Kurdish communities during that period.

As we commemorate this day, we honor the memory of the victims, stand with survivors and their families, and reaffirm the importance of remembrance, accountability, and preventing such atrocities from ever occurring again.

تیمی نوێنەرایەتی حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان لە ئەمریکا گەرمترین پیرۆزبایی ئاڕاستەی خوشک و برایانمان لە کۆمەڵگای ئێزیدی دەکات بە بۆنەی سەری ساڵی تازەیی ئێزیدی.

جەژنی چارشەمبا سۆر بۆنەیەکی گرنگە لە ساڵنامەی ئێزیدی دا کە دەسپێکی ساڵی تازە و هاتنی وەرزی بەهارە. هاتنی ساڵی تازە ساتێکە بۆ نوێبوونەوە و شادی و ئاهەنگێڕان و نەریتە دێرینەکانی ئایینی ئێزیدی وەک سەردانی مەزارگە و شوێنە پیرۆزەکان و داگیرساندنی مۆم و ڕازاندنەوەی ماڵەکان بە گوڵ و گوڵزار و کۆبوونەوەی خانەوادە و کۆمەڵگا.

لەم بۆنە تایبەتەدا، ئێمە دووبارە پیرۆزباییەکی گەرم ئاڕاستەی خوشک و برایانمان لە کۆمەڵگای ئێزیدی دەکەین لەگەڵ دووپاتکردنەوەی گرنگی کەلتوری پێکەوەژیان و لێبوردەیی و فرەیی کەلتوری.

Known as Çarşema Sor, or Red Wednesday, this important holiday marks the beginning of the new year in the Yezidi faith and the arrival of spring. It is a time of renewal, reflection, and celebration, observed through traditions such as visiting holy sites, lighting candles, decorating homes with flowers, and gathering with family and community.

On this special occasion, we celebrate the rich heritage of the Yezidi people and reaffirm the importance of coexistence, respect, and cultural diversity.

بەبۆنەی هاتنەوەی جەژنی قیامەی پیرۆز, نوێنەرایەتی حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان لە ئەمریکا گەرمترین پیرۆزبایی ئاڕاستەی خوشک و برایانی کریستیان دەکات لە سەرتاسەری جیهان، هیوادارین ئەم جەژنە ببێتە مایەی شادی و ئاشتی و تەندروستی و خۆشگوزەرانی بۆ هەموولایەک.

لە ڕۆژی ٤ی نیسان دا، ئێمە یادی قوربانیانی جینۆسایدی کوردانی فەیلی دەکەینەوە کە ٤٦ ساڵ بەر لە ئێستا دەسپێکی ڕووداوێکی تراژیدی بوو لە مێژووی کورد و عێراق. هەزاران خانەوادەی کوردانی فەیلی لە مافی هاوڵاتیبوون بێبەشکران و بەشێوەیەکی زۆرەملێ ئاوارەکران و لەسەر ماڵ و زێدی خۆیان دەرکران. هەزاران کەس بێسەروشوێنبوون و زۆرێک لە خانەوادەکان تاوەکو ئەمڕۆش بەدوای وەڵامێک دەگەڕێن.

هەرچەندە ئەم تاوانانە وەک جینۆساید ناسێنراون بەڵام تاوەکو ئێستا ڕێگاکان بەرەو دادپەروەری و تەواوی گەڕاندنەوەی مافەکان بەردەوامە. ئێمە لەم یادەدا سەری ڕێز و نەوازش دادەنوێنین بۆ شەهیدان و قوربانیانی ئەم تاوانە و پاڵپشتی دەکەین لە کوردنی فەیلی لە تێکۆشانیان بۆ دادپەروەری و شکۆمەندی و دانپێدانان.



On April 4, we commemorate the victims of the Feyli Kurdish genocide and mark 46 years since the beginning of one of the most tragic chapters in Kurdish and Iraqi history.

Hundreds of thousands of Feyli Kurds were stripped of their citizenship, forcibly deported, and separated from their homes. Thousands disappeared, and many families are still seeking answers.

While these crimes have been recognized as genocide, the path toward justice and full restoration of rights remains ongoing.

Today, we honor the memory of the victims and stand with the Feyli Kurdish community in their continued pursuit of justice, dignity, and recognition.
