79 years ago, the course of our country's history was changed.

Today, we remember the servicemembers who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor and the heroism and bravery of everyone who stepped up to defend our country in the aftermath.

As I wrap up my final days in DC, I’ve been reflecting on my accomplishments and those of my predecessors. Of all the footsteps I’ve been fortunate enough to follow, none loom quite as large as Joseph Rainey, the first African American to serve in the House and a fellow Representative of the First District. Glad I had the chance to stop by his exhibit in the Capitol today.

This is great news and another big win for conservation! The ACE Act will help fund several critical conservation programs right here in the Lowcountry - including the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF).

Most importantly, it will help keep our waterways, wetlands, and wildlife healthy for generations of birders, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.
