On this day in 1924, the Indian Citizenship Act, also known as the Snyder Act, was signed into law, granting citizenship to American Indians and Alaska Natives born within the United States.
The act marked a significant milestone in Native American history while preserving tribal citizenship and the unique government-to-government relationship between tribal nations and the federal government.
Today, tribal nations continue to govern their communities, uphold their sovereignty, and make decisions that reflect the needs, values, and priorities of their citizens. 🪶

The USIPA Advanced Training Center in Devils Lake, ND had the pleasure to host FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) which is a nationally recognized leadership development course designed to strengthen the supervisory skills of law enforcement professionals.
The SLI provides a challenging, thought‑provoking learning environment that emphasizes modern leadership principles, professional communication, and the science and art of effective law enforcement management.
The program introduces participants to the mission and history of FBI‑LEEDA, highlights leadership expectations, and serves as the first step toward earning the prestigious FBI‑LEEDA Trilogy Award, which requires completion of the Supervisor, Command, and Executive Leadership Institutes.
The Advanced Training Center will be hosting Command and Executive Leadership Institutes this summer.
We had a very successful class with 34 students in attendance!

To the brave men and women who stood up for freedom, answered the call, and fought for our nation and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country … thank you.
To the mothers and fathers who raised a hero, to the brothers and sisters with an empty space, to the sons and daughters who have only memories, and to the wives and husbands who bear the void with pride … we remember.
To all who’ve lost a soldier they love, no gift could repay your sacrifice. No tribute could match our gratitude.
This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage, service, and dedication will never be forgotten.
