4,968 days. One city. Countless moments of progress.
From economic security and public safety to civil rights and affordable housing, these past 13 years have been about delivering results people can feel in their daily lives. Thank you to every resident, advocate, and partner who pushed us to meet the moment with urgency and purpose. The work isn’t finished, and neither is my commitment to the people of this city.

This moment is bittersweet. I’m proud of the work I’ve done on the DC Council to deliver results. Together, we’ve fought for – and delivered on – affordability, public safety, and making Washington DC a leading city for the future.
But that work is not done, and I’m committed to continuing our work, together, in new and meaningful ways. I’ll have an announcement about my plans in the near future and, when I do, the people of DC will hear from me personally and directly.

I had the honor of joining the at their Night of Black Excellence. This group, founded by six remarkable students — Tarek Baldi, Destin Badger-Allen, Nash Pittman, Trenton Gross, Nile Jones, and Kayden Gregorio — is creating a supportive and empowering space for Black boys to grow, lead, and express their excellence.
Thank you to DC International School, their incredible families, and partners like and for uplifting these boys and believing in their vision.
I am proud to announce that the Black Boys Excellence Collective will be officially recognized by the District of Columbia, ensuring this work continues and expands across our city.
This is a powerful step forward for our young people and our community.

I spent an incredible morning with the DC Chamber of Commerce at the Inaugural Chairman’s Breakfast. It was wonderful to connect with business leaders who are committed to creating an inclusive economy for all.
