As they were celebrating the New Year, dozens of our fellow Americans were killed or injured in a horrific, deliberate attack. My heart is with the victims’ loved ones and the entire New Orleans community. Thank you to the federal & local law enforcement officers on the scene.

🔔 BIG NEWS: President Joe Biden will sign my bipartisan into law in just under one week. On Monday, January 6, millions of Americans — including police officers, firefighters, and federal employees — will no longer be denied the retirement benefits they earned.

President Jimmy Carter led a life of service. He donned the U.S. Navy’s uniform, dedicated himself to his home state, ascended to the Oval Office, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his commitment to global human rights. May his legacy continue to inspire generations.

More than 50,000 police officers, firefighters, federal employees, and other public servants across Virginia will soon — finally — receive the retirement benefits they paid into, but have for decades been denied. My bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act is headed to the president's desk to get it done.

🔔 My team returned more than $12 MILLION in backlogged benefits — like Social Security checks, VA benefits, tax refunds, and more — to Virginians in 2024. I’m proud of how hard our office works to deliver for residents of the Seventh District.
