Join us this June 2026 as we come together to bring the voices of our MSHS families to the halls of Congress.
Our Public Policy Forum is an opportunity for Migrant and Seasonal Head Start members to stay informed on the latest policy issues impacting our communities and to feel empowered to make their voices heard. We truly believe our strongest advocates are our MSHS parents, staff, and directors.

“Integrity is about fighting for your community even when no one is watching.”
This past weekend, our team was moved by a powerful speech given at the From Harvest to Head Start: A Celebration of Farmworkers event by our 2022 Summer Internship Alum, Jose Velasquez Castellano. His words captivated the feeling of what most of us are going through at this point in history and were a reminder of how important it is continue fighting even when we feel our work isn’t being acknowledged.
This summer, Jose will be starting a full-time position at the Foundation for Farmworkers in the heart of DC after graduating with a Masters in Data Analytics from Tufts University this May.
NAFHSA is proud of Jose and looks forward to seeing how his work will impact the farmworker community! Jose and his story are a true testament about the life long impact of MSHS and how the program helps children and families far beyond the classroom 🌟

Yesterday, MSHS parents from Stanislaus County Office of Education - Child & Family Services and Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. took their voices to Capitol Hill for the National Head Start Association’s Parents Unite Hill Day 🌟
They spent the day meeting with congressional offices to share firsthand the impact of Head Start on their families and communities.
We’re proud of these parents, and the MSHS staff who supported them, for speaking up and making sure their voices were heard 💙
