Eight years ago today, Virginia resident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi was brutally murdered.

Today, I joined colleagues in Virginia's Democratic delegation in renewing our call for President Trump to release the transcript of his 2019 call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman following Khashoggi’s murder.

Eight years is far too long to wait for answers. The Khashoggi family and the American people deserve the truth.

The VA needs to be able to recruit and retain the medical professionals our veterans depend on.

But right now, VA doctors are subject to a salary cap, and the VA can only waive that cap 300 times nationwide.

That simply isn’t enough for a system this large.

I’m pushing for solutions that give the VA the tools it needs to compete for talented providers and get veterans the care they’ve earned. (3/3)

The Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center needs more staff, plain and simple.

The dedicated people working there need support, and our veterans deserve timely, reliable care.

As I told CNN, I’ve been fighting to fix these staffing shortages, and I’m not letting up. (2/3)

My constituent Mike is a Marine veteran who went to the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center to receive the quality, timely care he earned through his service.

Instead, he saw four different primary care doctors in just 18 months because of staffing shortages.

I’ve been pushing the VA to address these shortages, and I’ll keep fighting until veterans like Mike get the care they’ve earned.

Today is National Manufacturing Day and we’re celebrating the hardworking Virginians who keep our economy moving.

From skilled tradespeople to small manufacturers and innovative businesses, Virginia’s manufacturing workforce is building our future and I’m proud to stand with them.

I’ll keep fighting to invest in American manufacturing, support good-paying jobs, and make sure Virginia remains a leader in making things right here at home.

When my 16-year-old constituent, the daughter of a U.S. Marine from Prince William, told my team that people with alopecia areata needed more support, I knew we had to act.

That’s why I introduced the Wigs for Warriors Act with Rep. Ayanna Pressley to require TRICARE to cover cranial prostheses for people with alopecia areata and other non-cancer conditions causing permanent or medically documented hair loss.

Everyone deserves access to the care and support they need to feel comfortable and confident.

The Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center is the nation’s largest VA outpatient clinic.

Yet the parking lot of this state-of-the-art facility continues to sit empty while veterans struggle to access the care they need.

That’s unacceptable.

I’m calling on the VA to take every possible measure to fully staff this facility and deliver the quality care our veterans have earned through their service.

Read more from Brian Todd:

When the Department of Veterans Affairs opened a new, state-of-the-art clinic with ribbon-cutting fanfare last year in his hometown of Fredericksburg, Virgina, Michael Dunlap was thrilled to have care so close.
