Carol’s home recently received a new roof through Operation Raise the Roof, which provides secure roofing for veterans and their families.

It was a meaningful way to continue honoring Lt. Colonel Callahan and the organization’s important work.

May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor and recognize the contributions, sacrifices, and service of the members of the armed forces, past and present.

I’m proud to have served 25 years in the Army. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I carry that experience with me every day as I work to support our service members and veterans.

My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives, the injured, and everyone impacted by this morning’s terrible crash on I-95.

5 dead, dozens injured in crash on I-95 southbound in Stafford Co. - WTOP News Virginia State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 southbound in Stafford County that killed five and sent more than 30 people to area hospitals Friday.

More than half of Virginia families report that their household debt increases during the summer because of rising food costs.

To help ease that burden, the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and local school divisions are operating summer meal service programs in Stafford County and Fredericksburg.
