Successful visit to Morocco for Congressman Trent Kelly and the U.S. Congressional delegation, marked by high-level meetings with FM Nasser Bourita, Minister Delegate Abdeltif Loudyi, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone.

During the visit, both sides strongly reaffirmed the depth of the 250-year Morocco-U.S. alliance and their shared commitment to further strengthening and expanding our strategic cooperation.

On Africa Day, FM Nasser Bourita highlighted the essence and core principles of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s Vision for Africa: a diplomacy grounded in African belonging, co-development and concrete action.

Such was the position reiterated in Rabat by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot during his visit to Morocco. He further emphasized France’s support for the autonomy plan “as the only basis for a just, lasting and negotiated political solution,” stressing that UN Security Council Resolution 2797 “lies within this logic” and that France “hails this positive momentum, as well as the resumption of direct talks among all the stakeholders on the basis of the autonomy plan.”

Morocco proudly stands among the founding members of a cross-regional coalition committed to ending violence against women and girls worldwide. For Morocco, sustained reforms and international cooperation are key to advancing this global cause and ensuring that every woman and girl can live in dignity, safety, and equality.

The 9th Joint Committee Meeting of the Morocco-U.S. Free Trade Agreement is taking place today in Rabat, co-chaired by Minister Mezzour and Ambassador Buchan.
