DEPRESSION DUE TO LOSS OF A LOVED ONE
Dealing with a New Normal

The loss of a loved one often brings a level of pain that words cannot fully describe. In this
Wisdom Wednesday message, Quinten McCray discusses the depression stage of grief and the
difficult process of adjusting to a “new normal.”
Grief impacts people differently. For many individuals, the first year after a loss can feel
especially overwhelming. Everyday moments, family gatherings, birthdays, holidays, and
personal milestones become painful reminders of the absence of your loved one.
Quinten McCray reflects on the emotional reality of depression after loss—the loneliness,
sadness, tears, and internal struggles that many people quietly endure. It also highlights the
importance of support systems, family, prayer, and the healing comfort that can come through
the love of others.
Healing does not mean forgetting. It means learning how to continue living while carrying both
the memories and the love forward.
✨ Sometimes the strongest step toward healing is simply allowing yourself to grieve. ✨

US SUPREME COURT’S RECENT CRUSHING OF THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT!
Recent rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court have weakened key provisions of the Voting Rights Act, a law historically designed to prevent discrimination in voting. Decisions such as Shelby County v. Holder marked a turning point, removing federal oversight mechanisms that once protected vulnerable communities.
Calvin Shingler explores how these changes impact access to the ballot, civic participation, and the broader health of democracy. Mr. Shingler reminds us that preserving democratic values requires awareness, engagement, and a shared commitment to fairness and justice.
✨ A strong democracy depends on equal access to VOTE. ✨
