Community Health Worker Professional Network of DC

Community Health Workers (CHWs) are health workers who are trusted members of the communities they serve.

Primarily, CHWs educate on preventive health, link patients to health and social services, and improve the quality and cultural competence of healthcare delivery system. The CHW Professional Network encourages all CHWs, Promotores, Health Navigators, and Outreach Workers to come to the gatherings and help create a voice for a growing field that deserves to have sustainable employment and be recognized as a valuable part of the health care delivery system in the District of Columbia.
