Remember veterans and their families!

Remembering John Wayne (b. May 26, 1907-1979). Thousands of editorials were written about Wayne on his passing. The only actor, at the time, to be a transitive verb, according to this columnist. He ended by saying that John Wayne was "one of the darker sides of the American ideal."

You can't "John Wayne" everything. You must negotiate as appealing as "to John Wayne" something may look. Still, John Wayne was not a "dark side" of America. He was a Hollywood creation. Hollywood has created many "dark sides" of America. Why? Box office!

On May 26, 1972, President Richard M. Nixon and Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev signed the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty in Moscow following the SALT I negotiations between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. (The U.S. withdrew from the treaty under President George W. Bush in 2002.)
