Addressing the climate crisis is my life’s work and I believe it is the defining issue of our time. I was honored to join Brian Garcia and local climate advocates for the No Denying Climate Change town hall in Phoenix.

The only way we stop the Trump Administration, hold them accountable for the crimes they have committed and protect our environment, is to fight back with those who are willing to take bold action and treat the climate crisis as the dire threat it is.

I led 65 House Democrats in urging Secretary Marco Rubio to confront Turkish President Erdogan and the Turkish government over its escalating campaign of repression against LGBTQI+ people, human rights organizations, and advocates.

I stand proudly with the LGBTQI+ community here and abroad and will continue to fight for their right to live openly, freely, and without fear, anywhere and everywhere.

Thank you Rep. Dina Titus, Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, and Council for Global Equality for supporting and helping lead this effort.

I enjoyed catching up with my constituent, Sergeant Alecsaiah Tree. My office recently helped him receive combat-related compensation by working with the CRSC agency for the Marine Corps.

In addition to bravely serving our country, Sergeant Tree is studying at Glendale Community College and has a wonderful service dog, Zeus.

Casework is one of the most important aspects of our office’s work. If you need help, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Ansari.House.Gov.

I joined the Pascua Yaqui Tribe in Guadalupe for an Orange Shirt Day gathering to honor the survivors of residential boarding schools and remember the children who were separated from their families and tribes.

This gathering was a reminder that healing cannot happen by forgetting, but by listening to survivors, elders, families, and tribal leaders. Beyond grateful for the opportunity to learn and stand in solidarity with the Pascua Yaqui community.

I’m incredibly proud to have secured over $2 million in federal investments to create the Arizona State University Center for Heat Preparedness. This builds on work I’ve been doing for years—first locally here in Phoenix and now in Congress.

I fought for this investment because Arizonans know that extreme heat is dangerous. We see it in our neighborhoods, in our hospitals and emergency rooms, and our power grid. We see it affecting people who work outside, older adults, families, and people experiencing homelessness.

This Center is ready to tackle our extreme heat challenges. It will work on research and solutions that connect the dots between heat, water, energy, public health, and infrastructure—and then turn that research into practical solutions for all Arizonans.

Proud to be among the first supporters of Congressman Greg Casar’s critical bill to ban superintelligence and pause advanced AI development. Congressional Republicans need to return to work immediately and put this bill up for a vote.

Congress needs to take charge in regulating dangerous frontier AI tech which could be catastrophic for humanity without guardrails. Nothing is more important.

I had the honor of meeting Angélica César, an Arizona native recently honored by CHCI as a Young Alumna.

A proud daughter of immigrants, she now serves as a human rights lawyer and Aryeh Neier Fellow at Human Rights Watch and the ACLU, using her voice to fight injustices.

Her mom’s words growing up “no te conformes” continue to guide her. Proud to see her inspiring future generations!

Donald Trump doesn’t care about freedom or democracy for the American people, and he certainly doesn’t care about freedom or democracy for the Iranian people.
