Last week, East End hosted an exciting Go-Go performance led by local musician Charles Tolbert, also known as “Bliss the Violinist.” Bliss was joined by percussionist JB Shoatz and DJ Magic for a high-energy, interactive musical experience. Students became part of the performance by playing rhythm sticks, dancing, and participating in call-and-response singing. The show gave students an opportunity to experience the joy and energy of Go-Go music while learning about the rich musical culture of Washington, DC!

We had a great happy hour for our East End community at the new in the overlooking the Anacostia River. Our adults enjoyed some food and beverages, and our kids loved running around together and seeing familiar adults in a different space.

This week, a mom read a book to her child’s class about his scoliosis. That’s one way our community creates a school for everyone! Join us in two weeks (and invite non-Lee friends!) for a family event featuring read-alouds, book giveaways, crafts, food, and more. June 4, 6-7:30pm at our Brookland campus!
