The Georgetown Center for the Constitution invites you to a special event featuring Professor Randy Barnett and his new book, Felony Review: Tales of True Crime and Corruption in Chicago. Professor Barnett will be in conversation with Professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington University Law School. In Felony Review, Professor Barnett offers a vivid account of true crime and corruption in Chicago, bringing legal insight and narrative depth to a subject of enduring public interest.
The discussion will take place on Tuesday, April 7, from 12:05 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Georgetown Law campus, and will be followed by a book signing from 1:00 p.m to 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 11:45 a.m.

This is a reminder that applications for the Georgetown Center for the Constitution's 2026 Originalism Summer Seminar are live! Led by Professors Randy Barnett, Stephanie Barclay, and Lawrence Solum, the Seminar offers an excellent opportunity for law students and recent law grads to delve into the principles of originalism, engage with influential scholars, and experience the legal landscape in the heart of our nation’s capital.
Program highlights include visiting the United States Supreme Court, attending the 2026 Thomas M. Cooley Gala Reception at the National Archives, and meeting preeminent originalist scholars.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the launch of our Fellow Yonatan Green’s book Rogue Justice: The Rise of Judicial Supremacy in Israel, an insightful and timely conversation on the role of courts within a democracy.
The event featured a discussion between Judge Neomi Rao and Yonatan on judicial supremacy in Israel and its broader implications for comparative constitutional law.

It is our pleasure to introduce the participants of the 2026 Junior Scholars Conference in Legal Philosophy & Constitutional Theory, hosted together with the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics (GISME).
This year, we received dozens of applications and were truly impressed by the rigor and breadth of the submitted essays. Congratulations to the eight junior scholars selected for this year’s program. We are also grateful to the eight distinguished senior scholars who have agreed to serve as commentators on the forthcoming work. The Center is now hosting Professor Alexander Tsesis for a book workshop on his forthcoming work, Freedom of Expression, Human Consciousness, and AI, with commentary from Professors Mary Anne Franks, Irving Gornstein, Paul Ohm, and Alicia Solow-Niederman.
Discussions are underway exploring topics such as the intersection of human and machine thought and the First Amendment in the age of AI — an exciting and timely conversation on the future of law, technology, and expression.
