Shannon Jackson — Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) — will be a featured panelist at The Gathering Business Summit, July 23-25, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The conference, sponsored by the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma, offers sessions that highlight successful business plans of Native-owned businesses, how to seek government contracts, obtaining financial assistance, and business matchmaking. On May 17, 2023, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Executive Director Shannon Jackson was the guest speaker at Deloitte’s CMS Focused Small Business Outreach Event. The in-person event provided an opportunity for small businesses to explore potential partnering strategies with Deloitte, when pursuing work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It also included breakout sessions with Deloitte senior leaders that allowed small business attendees to engage in meaningful discussions and to share their unique capabilities, experiences, and differentiators, as well as ideas for future collaboration and teaming arrangements.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Government Contracting Services (GCS) sponsored an Advance Planning Briefing for Industry (APBI), from Tuesday, May 09, 2023 through Thursday, May 11, 2023. The event was held in person at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Humphrey Building in Washington D.C., with a virtual option. The APBI was designed to expand the industrial base of vendors able to support ACF’s 21 program offices. During the event, industry partners were provided a roadmap of potential contracting opportunities that are aligned with each respective organization specifically focusing on Fiscal Years 2023–2024.
