Solving America’s housing shortage starts with increasing supply and cutting the red tape that makes it harder to build.

This legislation takes important steps to modernize HUD programs, improve access to financing, and eliminate federal barriers that slow housing construction so developers and rural banks can deliver more housing for hardworking Americans.

🚨Today, the House passed H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.

America’s veterans and servicemembers deserve a system that delivers timely, high-quality care and strong benefits they have earned through their service to our nation. This legislation fully funds critical VA health care and benefits programs, expands support for mental health services, and continues strengthening the infrastructure veterans rely on every day.

This bill also recognizes the needs of military families by investing in improved housing and childcare facilities that directly affect daily quality of life. At the same time, it strengthens military readiness by funding key construction projects to ensure our forces remain equipped and prepared as we navigate global threats.

I was proud to support this measure because it reflects House Republicans’ deep commitment to those who selflessly serve our nation. The long-term strength of our military community is critical to the success of the United States.

Communities across the country have suffered the consequences of reckless soft-on-crime policies that put dangerous offenders back on the streets.

The Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act restores accountability to the bail process by ensuring left-wing organizations that post bail for violent criminals are subject to federal insurance laws and criminal fraud statutes.

Public safety should always come first, and this legislation is key in protecting Americans and restoring common sense to our bail system.

I thank my colleagues for their support of this bill, and I’ll continue fighting to ensure tragedies like the 2021 Waukesha Christmas parade attack are never repeated.

Major congratulations to Kevin Warsh on his confirmation as Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Kevin has decades of experience and has proven his commitment to fighting inflation and lowering costs for hardworking Americans. His Chairmanship will be revolutionary in helping our economy grow to the benefit of all Americans.

It’s worth remembering the Biden-Harris DOJ blocked the JetBlue-Spirit merger that could have strengthened competition and helped the airlines weather financial distress.

Instead, consumers are left with fewer flights and higher prices.

It was great to meet with the winners of WI-05's Congressional App Challenge, Bharat Nambisan and Ashok Nambisan from Stanford Online High School (Menomonee Falls), when they were recently in Washington, D.C., to demo their app at the celebration.

Their app, IntergenTEC, connects older adults with teens and youths for intergenerational sessions to combat loneliness and social isolation among older adults.
