🇨🇿🇺🇸 Foreign Minister Macinka’s working visit to Washington, D.C. successfully wrapped up, reinforcing the strong Czech-American partnership across diplomacy, security, and innovation.

Key highlights from the program included:

🏛️ Diplomacy & National Security: High-level meetings at the White House with Deputy National Security Advisor Andy Baker, at the State Department with Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau—who appreciated the strong alignment of our foreign policies—and at the Pentagon with Under Secretaries Elbridge Colby and Michael Duffey.

💡 Transatlantic Dialogue: Strategic discussions on upcoming geopolitical, security, and economic challenges during a meeting at the Heritage Foundation and a working lunch hosted at the Czech Ambassador’s residence with U.S. administration and business leaders.

🚀 Business & Innovation: A key meeting with representatives of Honeywell, a leader in aerospace, space, and defense innovation, which has operated in the Czech Republic for over 30 years and maintains its largest European presence there.

The visit further strengthened Czech-American ties and confirmed our shared commitment to advancing common strategic interests.

Vedle politických jednání se ministr zahraničí Macinka ve Washingtonu setkal také se zástupci společnosti Honeywell. Firma zaměřená na výzkum a inovace v leteckém, kosmickém i obranném průmyslu působí v České republice více než 30 let a právě v Česku má své největší evropské zastoupení. Honeywell patří mezi 100 nejvýznamnějších světových firem podle magazínu Fortune a přibližně třetina celkového leteckého výzkumu společnosti probíhá právě v České republice, v pobočkách v Praze, Brně a Olomouci ve spolupráci s českými univerzitami. Jednání se zaměřilo na další možnosti rozvoje společnosti a investic v Česku.

Zřejmě nejpolitičtější diskusi vedl ve Washingtonu ministr zahraničí Petr Macinka na jednání s Heritage Foundation 🇨🇿🇺🇸, jedním z nejvlivnějších konzervativních think-tanků v USA s výrazným ideovým i personálním vlivem na současnou americkou administrativu. Diskuse, kterou by nejspíš neocenili odpůrci vlády ani kolektiv okolo vedení opozice, se týkala svobodné ekonomiky, potřeby deregulace, ale i toho, že politika má řešit skutečný život normálních lidí, nikoli fantazie aktivistů.

Ministr zahraničí Macinka pokračuje v návštěvě USA ve Washingtonu 🇨🇿🇺🇸. V Bílém domě se setkal se zástupcem poradce pro národní bezpečnost a hlavním poradcem viceprezidenta Andym Bakerem. Americká administrativa ocenila současnou pozici České republiky, která se řadí mezi evropské země sdílející strategické priority současné vlády ve Washingtonu. Oba politici si potvrdili ideové souznění v otázkách současných geopolitických problémů i vnímání bezpečnostních hrozeb pro Alianci.

The 60th edition of the National Polka Festival in Ennis, Texas, brought together thousands of visitors to celebrate Czech heritage and traditions in the United States.

DCM Světlana Doboszová had the honor of participating as Grand Marshal of the festival, known for its vibrant parades, traditional music and dance, Czech cuisine, folk costumes, and the popular King & Queen Dance Contest.

The event was also attended by a delegation from Pardubický kraj led by Governor Martin Netolický. During the visit, a memorandum of cooperation between the Pardubice Region and Ellis County was officially signed.

Representatives of Východočeské muzeum v Pardubicích also traveled to Ennis to open the exhibition “Pernštejn Women,” while Pardubická muzika introduced audiences to the rich tradition of Czech folk music.

Thank you to National Polka Festival for preserving and celebrating Czech culture and strengthening the long-standing ties between the Czech Republic and Texas.

🇨🇿🇺🇸Memorial Day | Honoring Czech-American Service and Sacrifice 🇨🇿🇺🇸
This Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the generations of Czech Americans who strengthened the bond between our two nations through military service and sacrifice. Czech immigrants and their descendants answered the call to defend their adopted homeland, standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow Americans in times of conflict and uncertainty.

Among them was Antonín Fajkus, a Czech-American fighter pilot born in South Moravia who flew nearly 190 combat missions in the Pacific during World War II as part of the famed “Red Devils” squadron. For his extraordinary courage and service, he received numerous military honors, including six Air Medals.

His story reminds us that the enduring friendship between the Czech Republic and the United States has been shaped not only by diplomacy and shared democratic values, but also by sacrifice, service, and a steadfast commitment to liberty. He passed away at 101 years old last year.

Today, we remember all who served and those who never returned home. We honor their memory and reaffirm the deep ties that unite our nations.
