We are heartbroken by the passing of Congressman Barney Frank.
He didn't just come out. He came out — and then did the job better than almost anyone. He chaired the House Financial Services Committee. He co-authored the Dodd-Frank Act. He won re-election with 70% of the vote. He served 32 years, openly and unapologetically.
He made it imaginable for an entire generation of LGBTQ+ leaders. And then he made it ordinary.
Rest in power, Congressman. 🏳️🌈

Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
Every LGBTQ+ person deserves to live freely and without fear — to love openly, to exist fully, and to be seen. That's not just a value we hold. It's why we fight every single day to put LGBTQ+ people in elected office.
Laws protect lives. Policies shape futures. And the people who write them matter.
When our community has power, we can protect it. When we hold office, we hold the line.
Today and every day.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jason Collins.
Jason's decision to come out in 2013 as the first openly gay active player in major American professional sports was an act of profound political courage. He understood, even when others didn't, that visibility IS advocacy. That living openly IS resistance.
His bravery paved the way for LGBTQ+ people in every arena — on the court and in the halls of power. At Victory Fund, we fight every day to elect leaders who share that same courage. Jason reminded us why that work matters.
Our hearts go out to his family, loved ones, and all who are grieving today.

It was an honor to host our National Brunch on Sunday in Washington, DC, surrounded by our incredible community.
For over 35 years, Victory Fund has worked to build a world where LGBTQ+ people are fully represented in the halls of power and the policies that shape our lives reflect who we are.
We want to thank every leader, advocate and ally who attended, including our Allyship Award honoree Governor Andy Beshear.
Each and every one of our guests have shown us what true leadership looks like: standing up for our community and proving every day that representation is power.

This Sunday at our National Brunch in Washington, D.C., Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear will receive the Allyship Award, and as his new interview with makes clear, he's earned every bit of it.
Beshear has vetoed anti-LGBTQ+ legislation over and over — standing firm for our community even when it wasn't the easy path. That's what real allyship looks like.
His message to trans youth watching their rights be debated: "I see you. I care about you."
"Governor Beshear has shown that leadership isn't about political convenience — it's about courage," said Victory Fund President Evan Low.
