I’m sorry to learn about the loss of former Congresswoman Patricia Saiki. Only the second woman elected to represent Hawaii in Congress; she spent her career advancing education at every level, fighting for Japanese Americans, and supporting reproductive freedoms.

My thoughts and aloha go out to her family at this difficult time.

Republicans' National Private School Voucher Program will be entirely misused.

And "opt-in" governors will be helpless to stop the program, even as it harms their public schools.

Republicans' Private School Voucher Program helps wealthy families, private schools, and unaccountable SGOs, while governors who “opt in” have no control over the program, but all the responsibility for cleaning up the mess.

Ridiculous.

With the arrival of the long-awaited rules, Democratic governors are under more pressure to say whether they will opt in.
