We stopped talking about fixing VA’s electronic health records and started doing it. Four new sites went live this year and nine more are on the way. This long overdue improvement means better care and better continuity for Veterans.

Veterans deserve better than 70-year old facilities. That’s why we’re modernizing facilities with upgraded operating rooms, more patient capacity, and safer, more reliable infrastructure to improve the Veteran experience.

Nothing is more perilous than to be on the cutting edge of change. No matter what our critics say, VA is changing to be the best it can be, and we’re proud to be working with to improve the way we help homeless Veterans.

Last night, we honored those who gave the last full measure of devotion. When the 24 notes of Taps sounded, we were reminded that the freedoms we cherish were delivered by those who sacrificed everything. On Memorial Day, and every day, we must not forget what we have been given by these heroes.

Spent the morning at Rolling to Remember with and thousands of Veterans honoring their fallen friends and family. This weekend is about remembering those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms; this ride does just that.

Today we honored the names etched into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial through the humble act of washing the wall. It’s our way of saying welcome home and remembering their sacrifice. It’s also a reminder to those in the future, that if you don’t step up as well, this freedom we have, is not there.

I’m tired of hearing about what we GIVE to Veterans. They’re not given anything. Veterans have EARNED every bit of their benefits the minute they raised their right hand!
