to promote and facilitate the acquisition and utilization of knowledge in toxicology, and to provide opportunities for government toxicologists to meet and exchange ideas. In 2017, AGT initiated an exciting change to who we are, voting to modify our Constitution and By-laws and open the door to a significant expansion in the breadth and number of scientific professionals who will now be eligible to join our membership ranks and actively serve in leadership roles as Officers and/or members of Council. AGT recently completed a key part of the next phase of its exciting “reinvention” by changing our name and exploring venues and programs. Full membership (right to vote) now is available to those persons who are employed by any United States Federal, State, or Local Government as a qualified scientist in any human, animal, or environmental health- or safety-related science position, or who were so employed at the time of their retirement or separation from government due to a reduction in force (RIF). Associate membership is available to those persons who are employed by a governmental entity as a contractor or by any non-governmental entity (e.g., university, industry, non-governmental organization (NGO), etc.)
