Trauma Surgery Interest Group at GUSOM
We created this page to keep everyone updated on TSIG events and hope everyone will get involved!
The purpose of the Trauma Surgery Interest Group is to provide Georgetown School of Medicine students exposure to the many facets of the trauma surgery subspecialty by facilitating student-faculty interactions, sponsoring workshops and activities which demonstrate critical trauma techniques in both hospital and field settings, presenting opportunities for exposure to the practice of trauma surgery

Well lucky for you, we're having a Summer Surgery Panel tomorrow, the 21st, in GA 2/4!
M2s on the panel will describe their experiences in the OR last summer and can answer questions for any M1s who are interested in similar experiences.

Thanks to everyone who came to our TSIG Panel tonight! And a special thanks to our panelists: Dr. Sava, Dr. Johnson, and Dr. Beyene. They were very honest and open, providing amazing insight into the field of trauma surgery and were great at engaging us along the way. We had our laughs - during the anecdote of the trauma surgeons who try to work in the phrase "just the tip" when describing certain procedures - and we had our cries (lucky for us, our photographer was great at capturing JUST the cries!)
We hope everyone had a positive experience and look forward to seeing you all at future events!
