Today, we pause to remember the brave Americans who gave their lives in defense of our nation. The freedom we enjoy today is a direct result of their ultimate sacrifice. My prayers remain with our fallen heroes, those missing-in-action, veterans, current servicemembers and their families.

The ongoing substance use disorder crisis continues to have devastating impacts on our nation’s veterans. Our obligation to veterans does not end when their service does. I am proud to co-lead the bipartisan End Veterans Overdose Act, which passed out of Committee unanimously. This critical legislation will save lives by removing barriers to medication and making overdose reversal agents directly accessible to all veterans without a prescription at VA pharmacies.

Crapo Reintroduces Legislation to Preserve Idaho’s 190th Fighter Squadron | U.S. Senator Mike Crapo of Idaho 05/20/2026

During Military Appreciation Month, we honor the incredible men and women in uniform who protect our nation. The dedication of our servicemembers, including the brave 124th Fighter Wing, ensures the United States remains a beacon of freedom. The Air National Guard provides 30 percent of our combat air power at a fraction of the cost of active-duty units. Through bipartisan legislation like the Fighter Force Preservation and Recapitalization Act of 2025, I continue to fight to get our heroes the resources they need to protect our country.

The CLARITY Act passed by the Senate Banking Committee would provide investors and consumers the regulatory certainty needed to flourish in a digital economy. Clear, consistent rules will protect consumers while fostering innovation and growth. If we fail to act, we risk ceding leadership in financial technology and leaving the United States behind in a rapidly evolving global market.
