During this week's NCPG Member Town Hall, Director of Policy & Partnerships, Cole Wogoman discussed the launch of NCPG's Financial Trader Health & Safety Initiative and the organization's perspective on prediction markets.
NCPG's position is clear: trading event contracts on prediction markets is functionally gambling, regardless of how the activity is legally defined. When people risk money on uncertain outcomes with the possibility of winning something of value, the potential for gambling-related harm exists.
As financial products continue to evolve, NCPG remains committed to advancing public awareness, consumer education, harm prevention, and access to support resources.
