Following the 11th year of the passing of Sheriff Marvin M. Farrior, Sr., Sheriff Jerry "Juice" Mosley has been in the process of redesigning and "revamping" the Law Enforcement Complex sign at the end of the driveway.
The previous sign was designed in recognition of Sheriff Farrior's 32 years of dedication and service to Wayne County as our Sheriff.
In 2000, The Wayne County Board of Supervisors dedicated the new building you know of today as Sheriff Marvin M. Farrior Sr. Law Enforcement Complex following his retirement in 2000.
Marvin M. Farrior, Sr. was born July 2, 1931 and passed from this life on September 4, 2015. At that time he was 84 years old. Today, his legacy lives on for many years to come.
Statement from Sheriff Mosley: "He was a great man and great Sheriff. He made a difference for Wayne County over his 32 years as Sheriff and 84 years of his life. I was in such disarray over how terrible the sign has become and I decided when I first took over that I was going to fix this memorial of him. This design took a while to create as I was trying to give him the recognition he deserves so this decision was not made lightly. He was Sheriff during my 19 years as a patrolman at the Waynesboro Police Department until he retired and I was lucky enough to learn a lot from him and I can honestly say those were the best years during my Law Enforcement career."
