Strong communities take thoughtful planning and people willing to work together.

At this week’s Commissioners’ Meeting, my fellow Commissioners and I presented proclamations recognizing Community Planning Month to Chester County Planning Commission Executive Director Matt Edmond, Assistant Director Carol Stauffer, and Board Co-Chair Roberta Cosentino.

Our Planning Commission brings together municipal officials, residents, neighboring counties, and regional partners to address shared challenges and plan for our future.

Thank you to everyone helping Chester County grow responsibly, protect the places we value, and build more connected, resilient communities.

Congratulations to Downingtown Library on its 150th anniversary!

At this week’s Commissioners’ Meeting, my fellow Commissioners and I recognized this milestone with citations accepted by Library Director Jasmine Smith and Trustee Beth Valocchi.

From a collection of 900 books to more than 30,000 today, Downingtown Library has grown into a valued community resource and member of the Chester County Library System. Now located beside Kerr Park, it continues to connect residents with books, learning opportunities, and one another.

Thank you to the staff, trustees, volunteers, and supporters who keep the library thriving for generations to come!
