Throwing a pineapple at a moving vehicle isn't a harmless prank. It's dangerous, and it can result in criminal charges.
Three 18-year-old adults and a 17-year-old juvenile are facing charges following a West Chester Police investigation into an Oct. 1 incident on West Chester Road, where a pineapple was thrown out of a moving vehicle and struck a passing Tesla Model Y, shattering its windshield and causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Fortunately, the driver wasn't hurt. But throwing anything at a moving vehicle can cause the driver to lose control, putting drivers, passengers, and pedestrians in serious danger.
West Chester Police have zero tolerance for behavior that puts people or property at risk. Our message is simple: Think before you act. Something that seems funny for a few seconds can have consequences that last much longer.
It is important to note that these individuals are innocent until proven guilty and that this is still an active police investigation.
If this has happened to you or you witness similar suspicious activity, report it to West Chester Police at 513-777-2231. Call 911 for an emergency or immediate threat to public safety.
