In celebration of National Coming Out Month, on Sunday, October 4th, the LGBT Equality Alliance held their annual OutFest celebration at the Chester County History Center. Their website described the event as “a community-centered event that honors the courage it takes to live authentically while creating space for those who are still finding their way.” There were a variety of booths such as Free Mom Hugs. To keep out the light rain that was coming down outside, the patio was set up with a tent shielding tables and chairs. On June 15th, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that Pennsylvania Skill Games are illegal under Pennsylvania’s Crimes Code and Gaming Act, leaving less than ten days left for owners of “skill game” terminals to remove them from their properties. These are machines found at bars, convenience stores, laundromats, etc. that attract players with the possibility of winning money by beating specific games on the terminal, which themselves require money to play. To learn more about the situation, be sure to read the entire article, “Skill Game Over,” written by Bonita Tyes, at www.westchesterchronicle.com/p/skill-game-over.
