SNAP changes went into effect on May 1st. Many families throughout Illinois are affected. ABC7 News came out to and to learn how we are preparing for the influx we will inevitably see:
Tens of thousands of Illinoisans expected to lose SNAP benefits as new requirements take effect Food assistance benefits are expected to disappear for tens of thousands of people in Illinois beginning Friday.

Transporting and moving 4M pounds of food annually takes hard work and heavy duty equipment! We are always so grateful to the DuPage Foundation for their generous grant opportunities. This year, we purchased pallet jacks and a much needed additional freezer. βοΈ

Because of you, Neighborhood Food Pantries was able to facilitate over 225,000 neighbor contacts, ensuring that no one in our communities has to face a hungry night alone.
From providing 3.4 million meals to purchasing over $214,000 in fresh food and milk, these aren't just numbersβthey are vulnerable seniors, veterans, and families who found hope at our doors. We are so grateful for the hands that give, the hearts that care, and the friends who make this mission possible.

The Glenbard North High School Fine Arts Honor Society and the Glenbard District 87 Culinary students have teamed up with Wheaton College artists and the Village of Carol Stream PD and middle schoolers for the 2026 Empty Bowls Event!
Come enjoy live music and tasty treats while you paint your own bowl, or pick a one-of-a-kind creation from our talented students.
Every bowl purchased helps feed our neighbors!
