I know firsthand that life isn’t always fair. Sometimes life can be downright cruel and unforgiving, and there are moments when we simply can’t understand why the people we love are asked to walk such difficult roads.

But I also believe deeply in the power of prayer, love, community, and showing up for one another. I believe in surrounding people with so much love and light that even in their darkest hours, they know they are never walking alone.

A beautiful family very close to our hearts already knows the cancer journey far too well. Harper’s mom has been fighting her own battle with cancer and is currently continuing maintenance treatment.

And this past week, their family received news no parent ever wants to hear.

Their beautiful young daughter, Harper, has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. 💜

Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the body’s immune system. While Harper has a difficult journey ahead of her, she has something incredibly powerful surrounding her: an army of people who love her, believe in her, and are ready to stand beside her every step of the way.

Harper is brave. She is strong. She is surrounded by love and light. And she has one incredibly strong mama showing her exactly what it means to fight.

We believe in you, Harper. 🌈🦋💜

For the entire month of October, Greater Things Roasters will donate 50% of the proceeds from every October specialty drink sold directly toward Harper’s journey, helping her family with travel and other expenses associated with her treatment.

And because this family means so much to us, Ray and I personally will match the total amount raised through this campaign. Every dollar our community helps raise will be met with a dollar from us. It is our way of standing beside Harper and her family and reminding them that they do not have to carry this journey alone.

So when you stop in for your October specialty drink, you’re doing more than buying a cup of coffee. You’re helping us wrap this beautiful little girl and her family in the love and support they deserve.

And most importantly, help us remind Harper that she does not fight alone.

☕️ ONE YEAR. 🤎

I honestly cannot believe I get to say that today marks ONE YEAR of owning Greater Things Roasters.

What an adventure this has been.

When we stepped into this little café a year ago, I don’t think we could have imagined what it would become or how much joy it would bring into our lives. There has been a whole lot of learning, changing, growing and, as I like to say, throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. 😂 And truthfully… we’re still doing it!

But through every change, you have been here.

You’ve been patient with us. You’ve supported us. You’ve walked through our doors day after day, shared your mornings with us, brought your families and friends, told people about us, and allowed us to become part of this incredible community.

Seeing your faces every day has brought us nothing short of happiness. We hope that somewhere along the way, we’ve brought a little sunshine into your lives too. ❤️

And then there is our amazing staff.

Madison, Alannah, Olivia, Jasmine & Mason, we are SO incredibly proud of you. You have each played a part in making Greater Things what it is today. Your hard work, personalities, growth and love for this place have meant more to us than you know. We truly could not have asked for better people beside us.

And we are just getting started.

We still have so many ideas up our sleeves, so many things we want to create, and so many ways we want Greater Things to continue serving and being part of this community.

So, to celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, we’re celebrating with YOU during the first week of October! 🎉
